Consultations
Consultations are by appointment in the mornings, afternoons and evenings. We have longer consulations as standard so that you do not have to rush your time with the vet. We also open the Cheltenham practice, in the Reddings, on Saturdays from 8:30 until 5pm. You can book online quickly and easily. In the event of any emergency please telephone us to let us know you are on your way and we will endeavour to see your pet as soon as we possibly can.
Emergency service 24/7
When the surgery is closed you have the peace of mind that if any emergency arises your pet can seen and checked out by a vet and treated if necessary. We use a dedicated, very well equipped emergency veterinary service that is within quick and easy driving distance. See the ‘In an emergency‘ section of the site for more details.
Grooming
Lynda at Posh Paws Grooming is located at the Cheltenham Vet Centre in the Reddings. Lynda can be contacted on 07901 003760.
Home visits
We are happy to provide house visits when required. They are usually done around the middle of the day after morning consultations. We do not perform house visits during evening surgery as we are always fully occupied with our patients at the surgery in the evening. Evenings are our busiest time.
There are times when a house visit is not the best thing for your pet, for example when we need to use equipment based at the surgery. We will advise you if a house visit is not appropriate and we will explain why. We can also help you with transportation of your pet by taxi or ambulance to the surgery if needed.
We understand that if the time comes to say goodbye to your pet and euthanasia is necessary, a lot of our clients prefer this to be done at home. This will help your pet remain relaxed in their familiar surroundings. We will do our best to arrange a suitable time to come out to you.
Please give us as much notice as possible if you need a house visit so that we can plan our day.
We can also arrange collection and dropping off pets by a nurse in instances when a client is unable to get in by car or public transport. Please calls us and discuss your request with our receptionist.
On-Site Comprehensive Laboratory
We have an extensive laboratory on-site at the Reddings in which we can run a large array of blood tests to help arrive at a diagnosis quickly. We can get results within a matter of minutes.
On other occasions we may send samples away for testing. We use the services of a commercial lab that collects the samples directly from our surgeries and delivers them overnight so that samples can be processed the next day. For many tests we can have the results back in 18-36 hours!
Micro-chipping
It is now compulsory to Microchip cats and dogs in England, Wales and Scotland.
On 6th April 2016 it became a requirement for all dogs over the age of 8 weeks in England, Scotland and Wales to be permanently identified with a pet MicroChip, unless exempted by a vet.
If your dog is not microchipped and registered on a compliant MicroChip database you could be served with a notice requiring this to happen. Failure to comply could result in a fine of upto £500
How would you feel if your pet strayed, became lost or worse still, was stolen?
It happens everyday, and of course if an animal can’t be identified it can’t be returned.
The solution is the Microchip, a permanent form of identification.
It is quick and simple. The tiny Microchip, encased in biocompatible glass, is injected under the loose skin of the neck in dogs and cats (in other animals the microchip may be inserted elsewhere).
Should the animal stray or be picked up by one of the local authorities, the scanner will read the unique 15-digit code. The Pettrac secure database (accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year) can then identify the animal, as well as it’s owners, name, address and telephone number so that pet and owner can be reunited in the shortest possible time.
Don’t risk losing your pet, if your pet is not already chipped call to make an appointment now!

Osteopathy
Consultations are by appointment with Tony Nevin BSc (Hons) D.O. who has his clinic at the practice.
Armed Forces
With the partners of several members of Arvonia Vets’ team living with serving and former members of the Armed Forces we really know what it’s like especially when you first move to a new area. Having to care for children and pets when one family member is deployed or away on exercise can be very difficult. Since opening we’ve offered 10% discount to serving members of UK Forces as well as those from other NATO countries. We offer 10% discounts on consultations, vaccines, neutering, microchips plus routine wormers and flea products. We are also very happy to offer home visits when home circumstances mean that journeys to the practice are difficult.
The Armed Forces discount is available at both surgeries – terms and conditions apply.
